We are a home for Earth science data and computing professionals. Our sessions bring together the community for hands-on, interdisciplinary deep dives as we explore "Innovation to Impact" this year. Learn more about ESIP: esipfed.org
The recent AGU Fall Meeting showcased over 125 sessions focused on equity, diversity, inclusion and justice - a remarkable testament to our field's commitment to systemic change in the face of increasing pushback against EDIJ initiatives. At a time when some question the value of EDIJ work, the scientific community has responded with concrete evidence of impact: from improving accessibility in field research to addressing disparities in climate data collection, these well-attended sessions demonstrated how EDIJ principles drive innovation and strengthen scientific excellence.
Building on our Summer 2024 discussions in Asheville and this proven momentum, this 90-minute virtual session will showcase innovative approaches to implementing EDIJ principles in environmental data science. Through focused breakouts and collaborative exercises, we'll examine measurable impacts of EDIJ initiatives - from enhanced data accessibility to improved research outcomes through diverse perspectives. Join us to develop practical frameworks that transform EDIJ principles into tangible scientific advances, helping shape ESIP's strategic approach to innovation through inclusion.
Value to Session Participants: This 90-min session will provide a supportive forum for a candid exchange of ideas where we can learn from each other.
Recommended Ways to Prepare: Be open, honest, and constructive.
